Improving Birth Outcomes: A Conversation with Troy Roberts

This week I talk with Troy Roberts, a new friend of the village. Him and I sit back and chop it up about his work as a doula. Yes, you read that right. This is a man, a man that is a doula...a Black man that is a doula. We talk about his journey into the work, his joy in the work, the passion for his work, and the stigma that he has faced. Troy wants to make sure we establish community with one another and I am here for it.

Troy is currently reading Black and White: The Way I See It by Richard Williams

I am reading The Enneagram for Black Liberation by Chi Chi Agorom

When the acoustics are just right, Troy can sing his face off to "If this World Were Mine" By Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn

When the acoustics are just right, I can sing my face off to "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston
